Day 1 — CUREage Ride 2024 (111mi) Chicago, IL to Saint Joseph, MI
Today, we will gather at Lurie Children's Hospital in downtown Chicago, IL, before embarking on a ride across the northwest part of Indiana and onward into Michigan, where we stop for the day — after a over a century of miles — in Saint Joseph, MI.
22 riders from Illinois, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Texas, north Carolina, and California. Some of us are former cancer patients, some are parents of cancer survivors, and some have lost children to cancer.

I'll post a recap at the end of day 1, but I wanted to share a post about the children we are riding for today.
Remember, the fight to cure cancer is never over, and 1 in 285 kids will get cancer. 10% never make it five years past their diagnosis. Sobering figures. Please donate to my efforts using the link on the left of the blog. 100% of my donations are being given to the Big Ten Cancer Consortium to advance research on cancer treatments and a cure. Less than 4% of cancer research dollars are given to pediatric cancers.
